JESSICA SMITH, a native of New Orleans, is a graduate of the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College. Growing up, Jessica trained as a competitive gymnast as well as attending the performing arts high school, New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. In her third year at Purchase College, she studied abroad at London Contemporary Dance School. She's performed works by Martha Graham, Trisha Brown, Doug Varone, Shannon Gillen, Lea Anderson, Peter Chu, Sarah Mettin, and many more.

She has performed with companies such as Punchdrunk's Sleep No More NYC, Vim Vigor Dance Company, ZviDance and Kizuna Dance. Jessica is the Associate Director of Arts on Site NYC, a non-profit arts organization, as well as Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of Dual Rivet, a highly physical contemporary dance company based in NYC. She is the Co-Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Dual Rivet, a NYC-based, women-led dance company focused on creating and sharing highly physical contemporary dance to a wide audience. Jessica was one of eight choreographers chosen for The Jacob's Pillow Ann and Weston Hicks Choreographic Fellowship in 2022. She continues to teach and set work at schools, festivals, and training programs throughout the U.S. and internationally including: Purchase College, Princeton University, Springboard Danse Montreal (Canada), Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts Camp, Peridance Certificate Program, Blois Danse Festival (France), and DanzaMed Temporada Internacional de Danza de Medellín (Columbia).
